NO FULL STRENGTH HEARING SHORTLY,SAID BOMBAY HIGH COURT

The Bombay High Court clarified that it would not conduct full strength hearings shortly, considering the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic. Two senior advocates wrote a letter to the Chief Justice, Dipankar Dutta asking him to allow the functioning of courts due to the increase in the number of court cases.

Other advocates also reiterated that they might have to turn to new methods to allow the functioning of courts despite the lockdown. As of now, the Bombay High Court functions on few days of a week and the urgent matters are addressed. Some of the suggestions put forth to allow the functioning of courts are the digitisation of records, division of cases, the entry with passes and so on.
