On Saturday, the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan announced a child friendly initiative.
As a part of this initiative,”digital de-addiction centres” would be setup in all districts and led with the help of police forces in the state.
There have been several incidents in the state where children have been trapped due to online games, therefore there was a necessity to introduce such an initiative.
The main aim of these centres is to bring children addicted to cell phones and online games into the mainstream society and keep them away from danger of online games.
The project will be implemented with the help of Cyberdome. However, the modalities of how and when it will be implemented will be worked out in due course of time.
The CM also proposed setting up of 20 child-friendly police stations and inaugurated new police station buildings and child-friendly spaces established at various places through videoconference.
