Report of Competition Commission says Google abused its dominant position in India

A recent report stated that Google has abused its dominant position in India. The report published in June by Competition Commission of India(CCI) stated that Google used its dominance in the Android operating system in India to bypass all competitors.

The words ‘huge financial muscle’ were used to indicate how Google edged past its competitors.
Alphabet Inc.’s Google’s clout disincentivised manufacturers to produce device in any other or different Android version.
This was stated by the investigation unit of the CCI.

Google company was reported as having told Reuters that it will work with CCI to demonstrate that there has not been any unfairness, and how Android has brought more competition instead of creating any dominant players.

The 750-page report stated that pre-installed apps is an unfair condition on device manufacturers and it was considered that Play Store app protected Google’s dominance.

CCI will give Google the chance to defend itself and only then decide further.
