Allahabad HC asked explanation regarding delay in investigation from DGP, SIT

The Allahabad High Court asked the Director-general of police, Uttar Pradesh and members of S.I.T team to clarify regarding inaction of the police authorities.

The fact of the case dealt with 16 year old girl from Manipur who found hanging in her school in 2019.

Her mother claimed her daughter had been harassed, beaten, assaulted and thus hanged.

The DGP was present before the Court.

The matter is left for tomorrow, i.e. 16th September, 2021.

The bench asked the authorities to explain as to why the disciplinary action of then superintendent of police, Manipur could not be completed before his retirement almost 6 months ago.

Senior Advocate Amarendra Nath Singh has been asked to appear for petitioner.

The member of SIT were present before the Court along with case diary.

The Court directed the DGP to remain present before Court with members of the SIT team.
