On Tuesday The Karnataka High Court dismissed the petition for recovering the loss on revenue. This revenue loss was to be recovered from unions and the employees of Banglore Metropolitan Transport Corporation and Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation as they went for an illegal strike in December 2020.
A bench of Acting Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum asked the respondent of the actions taken regarding this matter while dismissing the petition.
The Banglore Metropolitan Transport Corporation informed the court that action was taken on 1292 employees and 2494 employees were suspended for taking part in the illegal strike from 11/12/2020 to 14/12/2020. The Court further noted that suspension of 2421 employees should be revoked while 73 employees will be under suspension.
The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation informed that FIR was lodged against 136 employees under various sessions of IPC. 152 employees have been suspended of which 11 employees suspension has been revoked.
It was submitted by Advocate GR Mohan that huge trouble was faced by the public in the State Of Karnataka due to the flash strike by the employees of Banglore Metropolitan Transport Corporation and Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation.
