Honey Singh’s wife Shalini Talwar had alleged that she was subjected to numerous incidents of physical, verbal and mental abuse in the hands of her husband.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh counselled Honey Singh and his wife for over 1.5 hours in her chamber and said Shalini will visit her matrimonial home on September 5 with two lawyers and the protection officer to take her belongings from there. The entire visit will be videographed. Both Honey Singh and Shalini Talwar have agreed to this visit.
The Tis Hazari District Court also said that the couple were saying different things about how Shalini left her matrimonial home. While Shalini claimed that she was thrown out of the matrimonial home on March 20, the singer claimed that his wife left the house on March 16 at her own will.
The CMM further directed the parents of Honey Singh to appear in the online hearing on the next date of hearing, which is September 28. Both Honey Singh’s parents have been named as accused in the complaint filed by Shalini.
During the last hearing, the judge had ordered the singer to be present for the proceedings, noting that no one was above the law.
On September 28, the court will hear Shalini’s plea on interim compensation. She sought a compensation of Rs 20 crore, return of her dowry and also asked the court to direct her husband to pay Rs five lakh per month for a fully furnished house at a prominent location in Delhi.
