The Delhi High Court asked the Center and foreigner Regional Registration office to quickly decide on a plea which has been filed by an Ethiopian family asking for an extension of medical visa in view of the financial difficulty to purchase tickets.
The bench was headed by Justice Rekha Palli.
The fact of the case was that after arriving to India on July 1, 2020 for the purpose of medical treatment of two family members there was a big medical expense which was anticipated due to Covid 19 .
It was Contended that tickets to Ethiopia was highly priced.
Advocate Zeeshan Khan appeared for the extension of family visa for a period of 45 days.
Advocate Rajesh Gogna stood for central government apprised that if any application for re-issuance of permit for staying in India for a further period of 45 days filed by the petitioner it will be considered expeditiously by considering the present situation of covid 19.
The matter was adjourned to September 6.
