AIIMS, New Delhi to allow petitioner(Vijaya Kumar) to participate in counselling : directed by the SC

The Supreme Court has directed AIIMS, New Delhi to allow the applicant to partake in counselling to be held on August 31 and to permit him admission in the DM Cardiology Course at AIIMS, Rishikesh, as per the available vacancy, if the candidate is willing to.

The division bench of Justice Indira Banerjee and R. Subhash Reddy has made a point that obviously this judgment should not be treated as point of reference considering the extraordinary conditions of the case as assessments couldn’t be held as booked because of overpowering ascent in Coronavirus cases, and there is as yet a seat accessible at AIIMS, Rishikesh.

The request was documented by Vijaya Kumar Varada, a specialist and a last year understudy of the M.D. Course , INHS Asvini, Mumbai, who has applied for admission to the Specialist of Medication Course of the July 2021 meeting in compatibility of a Notice distributed for admission to Post Alumni and Post Doctoral courses by the (AIIMS), New Delhi. The applicant was chosen for a seat in the DM Course in Cardiology at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Odisha subsequent to clearing the necessary cycle. He was presented to join the seat in the endorsed timeframe or, more than likely seat designated to him would be relinquished.

Dushyant Parashar who is a counsel on behalf of AIIMS, educated the Court that two seats in the department of DM course in Cardiology are accessible in AIIMS, Rishikesh but there is no seat left in DM Course in Cardiology at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

The apex Court , therefore, permitted petitioner to get affirmation and directed the organization to give him preference over other applicants who have positioned underneath him in the merit list.
