Facts:- The petitioners are Overseas Citizens of India cardholders who had been living in Delhi for the past four years.

They have registered for child adoption in March 2018 they have been on the waiting list and it effect from May 2018.

The plea urged that domestic / NRI (Prospective adoptive parents) are given preference. Here petitioners are treating them at par with NRI PAPs.

They also said that and indicate to change in policy because there is a reduction in the number of children given in inter-country adoption.

The writ petition was filed by an OCI couple in the Delhi High Court. They have not to get any referral from CARA and said that CARA is not following the seniority waiting list.

So Justice Rekha Palli issued notice to CARA. The matter will be heard on October 18.
