On Saturday, The Bombay High Court dismissed the petition filed by Raj Kundra assailing for his remand to custody and subsequent orders of the Metropolitan Magistrate in the porn film case.
He was arrested by the Mumbai Police on Monday and produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate at Esplanade.
Justice AS Gadkari held that the custody orders passed by the Magistrate Court are proper and do not require interference.”Remand to custody by magistrate is within conformity of law and does not require interference,” the Court ordered. After hearing both sides at length, Justice AS Gadkari reserved the case for orders.
Senior Advocate Aabad Ponda, appearing for Kundra said charge against his client was an afterthought to meet the requirements to handel this petition. he also said that the Mumbai Police seeking his custody and extension of custody changed with each remand, and were not consistent.
