On 2nd of july, The Supreme Court issued notice on a plea challenging the “unjust and infinite delay caused by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)” in announcement of the counselling schedule for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test and Masters of Dental Surgery courses (NEET-MDS) 2021.
On 12th of july, The Ministry of Health is dilly-dallying on the issue of finalising the schedule for holding counselling for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test and Masters of Dental Surgery courses (NEET-MDS) 2021, the Supreme Court said on Monday.
Today, The Central government made it clear that it did not “dilly dally” with the counselling as stated by the Supreme Court during the last hearing.
And the delay in counselling was due to the clarification which was sought from top court regarding OBC reservation in All India Quota (AIQ) seats which are contributed by the state medical colleges under the AIQ scheme.
Now the MoHFW informed the Supreme Court that counseling for the NEET -MDS students for 2020 will be carried out virtually within 4 weeks as per existing reservation policies.
