Clear Failure Of Authorities In Upholding Citizens’ Right to clean Environment”: NGT Pulls Up Haryana State For biodegradable pollution Overflow On National Highway

The National Tribunal has force up the State of Haryana for its failure to take remedial measures for controlling biodegradable pollution overflow on National Highway-19 once observant that the State authorities had failing in upholding citizen’s right to clean atmosphere.

The assembly was handling a case relating to overflowing of biodegradable pollution from Seekri village in Faridabad District in Haryana on the service street and on the stretch of Delhi – Agra center Highway road.

A bench headed by presiding officer Adarsh Kumar Goel granted one last chance to the State for taking applicable remedial actions at intervals 3 months.

Court aforementioned – “It is troublesome to simply accept that for one and a half year even the problem of tender couldn’t be finalised, even if matter is of such great urgency.The plea that there was one tender or no one was offered to execute the work shows lack of awareness regarding the priority for atmosphere.”

There is conjointly no prohibition of the work of such an urgent nature being dead departmentally.

The Court conjointly directed further Chief Secretary , Development and council Department, Haryana to remain present in person with compliance standing on future date that is seventh Dec 2021.
