Delhi High court instructs police to provide protection to a women who changed her religion.

On Thursday, Delhi High court instructed the police to provide protection to a woman who changed her religion.

on May 27, 2021, she had converted to Islam with her own free will and without any threat or coercion from anyone. Renu gangwal who is now Ayesha Alvi has been filed the petition. She is originally from the Tilhar, Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, is working and residing in Delhi.

Her Advocates Kamlesh kumar Mishra and Nitin kumar nayak alleging she and her family has getting life threats and also stalked by the officials of UP police, media and vigilant group.

Stated that she is a adult and is protected by the constitution,she have right to choose her own faith and cannot be targeted if she choose what she wants. Stated that certain media persons entered her house and took her pictures and videos against her will she also filed a complaint against the same on july 24 and no action has been taken on her complaint yet. So she ended up in court.

Justice C Hari shankar asked delhi police to provide temporary protection to the women till the matter is taken up by the regular bench on July 5. Insurance that she and her family up granted protection and not harrassed or integrated regarding her conversion.
