LACK OF FACLITIES IN GOVT SCHOOLS – REPORT BEFORE KARNATAKA HC

The state government was directed by the karnataka high court to submit a plan of action for infrastructure development in government schools across the state.

The money allocated for infrastructure in the year 2020-21 is Rs 88 crore. Now the amount is Rs 100 crore has been allocated in the year 2021-22 for school infrastructure.

The court in its order said “When we inquired what is the plan of action for the spending of Rs 100 crore towards infrastructure in government schools.

Out of the 889 schools, 37% of the schools have no separate toilets for girls. In 40% of the schools, there is no safe and adequate drinking water facility.

The court directed the state government to place on record a plan of action on or before the next date of hearing. The court posted the matter for hearing on July 12.
