Twenty-six doctors have approached the Supreme Court regarding postponement of the INI CET Examination, 2021 which is scheduled by All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) on June 16, 2021.
The petitioner claimed that holding the examination on June 16 is absolute disregard with respect to the assurance given by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) regarding postponement of the same.
Moreover PMO said that atleast one month’s time will be given to the students in order to prepare for the said examination.
But in this case, only 19 days prior notice is given.
The petitioners also stated that how conducting examination amid of pandemic will put pressure on graduate doctors and highlighted how board exams were cancelled.
Further, many doctors are not fully vaccinated and many of them not even received 1st dose of covid-19.
Finally, petitioner submitted that conducting examination will result in endangering the life of thousands of doctors and same contradicts Article 21 of Indian Constitution.
