JNU will submit a progress report on the petition for permission to construct a Covid care center on campus.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University will submit a progress report today in response to complaints filed by its students and staff asking the Delhi High Court to order the establishment of a Covid Treatment Facility on campus, claiming that the right to life and health is in grave danger.

There seems to be no question that there is room in JNU, and the SDM and the officials should be guided to establish a Covid Care Center, which should be run by JNU teachers and students, according to a single-judge bench led by Prathiba M Singh.

The Court ordered the Registrar to immediately respond and submit an update detailing the measures taken by the JNU management in response to the plaintiff’s application to the SDM/ADM of the respective zone.

The Court also ordered that a progress report be filed on whether such a facility can be built under the JNU regulations and how hospital staff can be made accessible or attached to a facility.
