Supreme Court ordered pvt. schools of Rajasthan to cut annual fees by 15%

The unaided private school of the state of Rajasthan was directed by the Supreme Court on Monday to cut their annual fees by 15% for the academic year 2020-2021 because there are various facilities which remained unused due to Covid19 pandemic, the court also directed not to debar anyone for the non payment of the fees.

The Supreme Court bench of justices AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari said that the schools can, under the the Rajasthan Schools Act, 2016, collect full annual fees for the preceding session but for the session 2020-2021 they should cut the fees by 15%.

The Supreme Court made this observation while hearing the plea filed by the management of the private school in Rajasthan against the order of the Rajasthan High Court of December,2020.
