The madras High court has came directly on the election commission of India for allowing the political rallies during COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief Justice sanjib Banerjee told the election commission’s counsel that your institution is responsible for second wave of Covid-19.and Chief Justice also indirectly said that your officers should be booked for murder charges.
Chief Justice observed that the election commission has failed to enforce the covid-19 norms regarding wearing of face masks,using sanitizers frequently in public places and maintaining social distancing during rallies despite court orders.
The Chief Justice also question about the whereabouts of the Election Commission of India (ECI) counsels during the election rallies.
Court has also given waring to election commission of India(ECI) that they will stop the counting of vote scheduled on May 2 if the ECI does not put a new blueprint plan ensuring COVID-19 protocols on the counting day.
