CBI questions Maharashtra’s former home minister for eight hours

The CBI on wednesday, in its preliminary enquiry made against the former Home Minister of Maharashtra, Anil Deshmukh questioned him for 8 hours. It’s done on the allegations of corruption against Deshmukh by the former Mumbai Police Commissioner, Parambir Singh.

However, Deshmukh denied all the allegations but the CBI has arrested the assistant police inspector, Sachin Waze for his alleged involvement in the Ambani House bomb scare case and the murder of the businessman Mansukh Hiren. Sachin is currently being interrogated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

According to the sources, Deshmukh told to the CBI that Singh was trying to defame the Maharashtra Government as he was upset over his transfer from the post of the Mumbai Police Commissioner.

However, in his(Singh) letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray, he had mentioned that Deshmukh asked Sachin to collect Rs. 100 crore every month, including Rs. 40 crore to Rs. 50 crore from 1,750 bars and restaurants in Mumbai.
