DCP has failed to prove any specific offence, says a Delhi court in Tablighi Jamaat case

After appearing in the court without case diaries in a case related to unfreezing of the bank account of the Nizamuddin Markaz situated in Delhi, the Delhi court pulled Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) while observing that, ” the court has not required his presence just for the sake of fun”.

Though the case was being adjourned but the state was being fined Rs. 10,000/- which is to be deposited in the Prime Minister Relief fund as the DCP was trying to adjourn the case with no specific reasons.

The petition was filed on December 19,2020.

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Arun Kumar Garg said that the DCP failed to prove any specific offence. On which, the DCP said that some cases are also being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate.

The court asked the DCP to take the help of the Investigating officer as he himself told the court that the accounts were being frozen on the directions of the IO.
