Delhi HC pulls up Delhi Govt. over recovery of MCD funds

The Delhi Government was being pulled up by the Delhi High Court as it was not recovering the outstanding debts from the MCD out of Basic tax assignments and also asked weather publishing advertisements at that time is Criminal or not.

The prayer of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (North) was also dismissed by the court which seeks two weeks extension for clearing the arrears of the retired employees.

The bench comprising of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli said that, “we are not living on Ivory towers”. The bench said that on the one hand the dues of the retired and serving employees were not being paid on the context of shortage of funds but simultaneously a huge amount is being spent of the full page advertisements of the politicians for fake propagandas.

Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi representing the Delhi Government said that the Delhi Government is also facing constraints of the funds but in this representation the Court made the above observations.
