Another petition has been filed before the Bombay High Court related to Parambir and Anil Deshmukh matter seeking a judicial inquiry into the allegations against Deshmukh.
This petition was a fifth petition and was filed by a Chartered Accountant, Mohan Prabhakar Bhide.
The petitioner sought constitution of a Special Committee headed by a retired judge of the Supreme Court or High Court to carry out investigation into the allegations raised against the State Home Minister by Param Bir Singh.
This petition was filed after Parambir Singh wrote a 8 page letter to Maharashtra CM Udhav Thackery alleging that Deshmukh frequently interfered with the functioning of the State Police giving instructions to the police force directing it to adopt a particular course of investigation.
Two other PILs and two writ petitions are already pending before the Bombay High Court on same issue.
Amongst the two PILs, one was filed by Ghanshyam Upadhyay seeking formation of Court monitored Special Investigation Team (SIT). The other PIL was filed by Param Bir Singh himself who invoked the PIL jurisdiction of the High Court after the Supreme Court asked him to first approach the High Court.
One of th writ petition was filed by Dr. Jaishri Patil seeking probe by CBI or any other independent agency into the allegations made by Parambir Singh against Anil Deshmukh. The other writ petition was filed by Hemant Baburao Patil seeking directions to an “independent agency” under the supervision of the High Court to register an FIR against Waze and his associates for alleged extortion.
In the present petition, the accountant also prayed that upon receipt of the report of this Special Committee, the High Court can initiate appropriate legal action against Deshmukh or Singh or any other person mentioned in Singh’s letter.
