Delhi HC seeks reply over reopening of Markaz

Centre, Delhi Government and police were given time by Delhi High Court to file their reply to the plea which seeks to reopen the Nizamuddin Markaz , which was locked on March 31st last year when several people contracted with Covid-19 after attending a congregation their at Markaz.

They were given a 10 days time to prepare the status report and matter is now listed for March 24.

Also, the Delhi High Court had on February 24 asked the Delhi Government, Delhi Police and Ministry of Home Affairs to file their reply to the petition filed by Delhi Waqf Board.

The counsel appearing on behalf of the board contended that even after unlock-1 guidelines religious institutions were allowed to open outside containment zone but the Markaz continues to be locked up.
