CBI summons wife of Mamata’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee in coal smuggling case

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Sunday summoned Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee’s mate Rujira Narula in alleged coal importation scam case. A CBI team reached Banerjee’s house in city in reference to associate current investigation into the case and additionally asked Banerjee’s mate to hitch the probe.

Abhishek Banerjee is the nephew of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

This is for the primary time that the CBI has landed at Banerjee’s residence within the coal importation case within which the probe agency conducted multiple raids at many locations across recently. On Friday, the CBI had raided at thirteen locations in four districts- Purulia, Bankura, Paschim Bardhaman and city of West Bengal in reference to coal scam case.

In November 2020, the CBI had filed a case to probe alleged illegitimate mining and thievery of coal from Kunustoria and Kajoria coal fields of Eastern Coalfield limited. The CBI had registered associate FIR against Manjhi alias Lala, Amit Kumar Dhar and Jayesh Chandra Rai besides ECL Chief of Security Tanmay Das, space Security Inspector, Kunustoria Dhananjay Rai and SSI and security in-charge Kajor space Debashish Mukherjee. it’s alleged that Manjhi is concerned in illegitimate mining and thievery of coal from demesne mines of ECL in Kunustoria and Kajora areas.

This is not the primary time Abhishek’s wife got entangled during a disputation. In 2019, Rujira had been stopped at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport for carrying gold without any declaration.
