Allahabad High court on weekday has summoned the Central Election commission to submit reply in 3 weeks on a Public Interest proceeding requesting the modification of reserved election symbols of political parties just like the Individual candidates anytime within the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
The division bench of Justice Rituraj Awasthi and Justice Saroj Yadav passed this order during hearing a PIL filed by Advocate Shraddha Tripathi.
The writ Petition for the relief claimed in and of itself isn’t rectifiable. The Petitioner on the opposite hand, has submitted that within the writ Petition, she has challenged the validity of paras ten, 10A, 10B, eleven and seventeen of the Election symbol (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968 as they’re in direct conflict with the provisions of Rule 5 and Clauses 4 and 6 of Rule ten of the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961.
