The Delhi High Court on Mon directed the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) to file a standing report explaining why several posts are lying vacant since Oct 2020.
A single-judge bench of Justice Prathiba M. Singh asked the NCM to file the same report inside ten days. The directions were passed whereas the court was hearing a petition for imposing the provisions of the NCM Act thereby filling all vacant posts within the Commission.
The plea, filed by Abhay rattan Bauddh through Advocate Vinay Kumar, sought-after a direction to instantly fill the vacant post of presiding officer, member Buddhist, Christian, Parsi, Sikh and Jain, that are lying vacant within the National Commission for Minorities.
The plea same not filling the vacant post of presiding officer, member Buddhist, Christian, Parsi, Sikh and Jain within the National Commission for Minorities is violating the provisions of the same Act and it’s moving the safeguards and interests of the petitioner’s Buddhist minority community.
