Scrappage policy to make India top auto hub in world: Gadkari

Union Minister, Nitin Gadakari said that the scrappage policy which was announced in the Budget, would spur India to become the world’s number one automobile manufacturing hub in the next five years.

He also said that he would try to shift the Container Corporation of India (CCI) depot in Nagpur.

He also said that in upcoming few days he will be announcing the details of the scrappage policy and will generate over 25 lakh jobs.

The minister further said that vehicles older than 15 years need higher maintenance and also have higher fuel consumption. He also said that the country would be producing electric vehicles and lithium batteries too. He aspires to make Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Gondia and Gadchiroli diesel free cities in five years.
