Amazon Prime, team Tandav filed petition against all the FIRs, hearing today


There is an allegation on the web series ‘Tandav’. Web series released on January 16 on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video, the series hurts religious sentiments.

Recently, FIR lodged in Hazratganj Kotwali, Lucknow against Ali Abbas, director of web series ‘Tandav’, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki and Aparna Purohit of Head India Original Content Amazon.

As a consequence, the Lucknow police team reached the home and office of the web series producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, director Ali Abbas and writer Gaurav Solanki to inquire into the matter. Police met the three and interrogated them and recorded the statements.

The three had apologized for hurting the sentiments of people from the web series in the statement.

_PIL filed against the FIRs_
Amazon Prime India chief Aparna Purohit, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, series writer Gaurav Solanki and actor Zeeshan Ayub have filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the FIRs made in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

The petition has demanded cancellation of the FIR registered in different states of the country.
