A boy aged 17 years was detained under anti-conversion law and kidnapping charges in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh. He abducted a 15 years old girl nearly a week ago when she was going market to purchase some stuff.
After the anti-conversion law came into force, it is the first case that is being registered under the same against a minor boy.
After detaining the boy on Friday, he was produced before Juvenile Justice Board and later on sent to protection home. But, the girl’s statement is yet to be examined by the magistrate incharge of the area in whose jurisdiction the case falls.
After completing all the medical and legal formalities, the girl will be handed over to her family.
The mother of the victim lodged an FIR against the said boy and two of his friends for allegedly abducting a girl and compelling her to marry. Though, the other two hasn’t been caught yet.
