The present Chief Minister of Bengal, recently announced that she will be contesting the upcoming assembly elections from Nandigram. Shubhendu Adhikari was the one who contested last election from the same in 2016.Now he has left TMC and has joined BJP.
Banerjee is presently an MLA from Bhawanipore constituency. The Bengal CM also said she could also contest the election from two constituencies, including Bhawanipore in south Kolkata.
Shubhendu adhikari was the one whi helped Mamta Banerjee to win this seat in 2012, and ousted the 34-year-old Left government.
The assembly elections in the state are likely to be held in April-May.In a reference to the party leaders who left the TMC, including Adhikari, Mamata said that she is not worried about those who are switching over to the BJP
