State is put on notice over the plea filed by the toll plaza firm: HC

On the petition filed by the concessionary managing Ladowal toll plaza on Panipat-Jalandhar highway, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notice of motion to the State of Punjab and the Union of India.

They approached the court as the are unable to collect the fee due to the farmers agitation and also because law and order in the state is broken down and the State machinary is doing nothing and they are facing huge losses.

The petition was filed by M/S Panipat-Jalandhar NH1 Tollway Pvt. Ltd. against the state of Punjab and other respondents. The petition was filed through counsel Sumeet Goel and Justice Sanjay Kumar has fixed April 6 as the next date of hearing in the case.

The counsel also contended that the petitioner was granted full control for 15 years over the 291 Kms strech of the NH1 back from 2009, and, now, due to the farmers agitation the maintanence of the highway is also hindered.
