At India tour of Australia, Ajinkya Rahane and his team are livid at the racist incidents at the Sydney Cricket Ground as Mohammed Siraj was called ‘brown dog’ by a section of supporters who were there on Sunday.
The racist taunts have come at fast bowler Mohammed Siraj’s way during Day 3 and 4 of the 3rd Test between Australia and India at the Sydney Cricket Ground.India players are not happy with the series of incidents at the SCG over the last 2 days.Play was stopped for more than 10 minutes on Sunday morning as Siraj alleged racist abuse and complained to the on-field umpires.
Senior India players, including captain Ajinkya Rahane, and the two Australian batsmen were having a discussion with Siraj and the umpires.The International Cricket Council, in a statement, said it strongly ‘condemned reported incidents of racism during the ongoing third Test match between Australia and India at the Sydney Cricket Ground and have offered Cricket Australia all necessary support in investigating the incidents’.India off-spinner R Ashwin said the Sydney Cricket Ground crowd have been nasty for quite some time and he had similar experiences in the past as well.
