On the night of 24th December, in a village in Yamunanagar district of Haryana, four men allegedly gang-raped a 37-year-old woman from Nepal after tying up her husband.
The husband of the 37-year-old Nepalese woman works as an agricultural labourer. The couple, along with their two-year-old daughter, lives in a tubewell room in the village.
According to the report by Times of India,”Five persons with their covered faces came in a car at the tubewell room, where we reside at around 11 pm on Thursday. I was asleep along with my daughter in the room and my husband was sleeping in the verandah. They tied my husband and the four raped me.” She also stated that,” When she vehemently pushed the fifth person who tried to assault her, fell down and threatened the woman with absurd consequences and ran. Consequently, she untied her husband.
The two thereafter told about the incident to their landlord, who accompanied them to the local police station. A case was registered against the five accused and the investigation is still on board.
A case under section 376D(Gang Rape), 342(Wrongful Confinement), 452(Criminal Trespass) and 506(Criminal Intimidation) of I.P.C has been registered against the accused.
