The review petition, filed by the Union Territory administration which seeks to modify the court’s October 9 decision declaring J&K state land act, 2001 “void ab initio” and ordering CBI inquiry in all instances of irregularities in transfer of state land to private individuals, is adjourned to December 16 by J&K High Court.
However, as the chief justice is demitting office on Tuesday, the bench didn’t take up the hearing and asked the bench secretary to convey the next date to all the parties.
Earlier all the transfers, even if done before the 2018 repeal of the act by then Governor, were declared invalid.
