Background
Mr. Aamir Khan had made a statement in a television show that his wife Kiran had said that they should consider leaving this country. Deepak Divan of Raipur had filed a complaint in the lower court against the statement, which was earlier dismissed. Thereafter, Deepak Divan filed a review petition which was also got dismissed by the Sessions Court of Raipur. Since the review petition was also rejected, Divan further approached the high court of Chhattisgarh through advocate Amikant Tiwari.
Charges against Mr. Aamir Khan
Deepak Divan, in his petition, had demanded action against Aamir Khan for offenses under Section 153-A and Section 153-B, of IPC.
Observation of the Court
During the course of the hearing, the bench said that determining whether the revelation by someone threatens the integrity and security of the country is a matter to be investigated by the Center and the state government. Therefore, no one can be allowed to interfere in the matter.
Held
Justice Sanjay K Agrawal overruled the petition stating that the plea had neither substance nor merit to be taken any further.
