Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued new guidelines for all domestic passengers flying from heavily Covid-affected areas like Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Goa to Mumbai that they have to carry a covid negative report along with them.
“The passengers without symptoms will be allowed entry. Passengers with symptoms shall have the option of turning back and going to their home to recover”, a state government order said. After Diwali there is an extreme surge in the corona cases, with Delhi being the most affected by the virus in the country. Further the order issued some guidelines such as before boarding their flights by Passenger, it is mandatory to submit Covid negative RT-PCR test to the respective airport and the same report should be forwarded by them to the arrival airport.
Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Wadetiwar said “The next 8 to 10 days are crucial and would determine whether the state needs to go into a lockdown or not”.
On the increase of Corona positive cases, Health Minister Rajesh Tope said “The state may take some steps within two days. We may have to take some strong steps. If it is not imposing the lockdown, then we might re-impose some of the restrictions.
