Sushma Swaraj Lectures launched by the Ministry of External Affairs

The Ministry of External Affairs launched a series of lectures in fond remembrance of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. The inaugural lecture was given by Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla. The first edition was designed to introduce India to foreign diplomats posted here.
In the first lecture, emphasis was given on the four Ds – democracy, development, demography and diversity. Since India has been supplying medicines to other countries, Mr Shringla stated, “India has also committed that our vaccine production and delivery capacity would be used for all humanity in fighting the COVID pandemic.” He also added that, “In one of the largest repatriation operations ever, we were able to bring home 1.8 million Indians stuck in far-flung corners of the globe under the Vande Bharat Mission.”
The programme includes an introduction to Indian history, polity, culture, and economy.
