3 Priests Suspended From The Orthodox Church In Kerala

The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church passed an order for the suspension of 3 three priests who were involved in unethical practices, harassment as well as financial irregularities. An enquiry would be followed after the suspension, as per the orders of Yuhanon Mar Diascoros, episcopal synod secretary of Syro-Malankara Church.
The priests: Fr. Varghese Markose, Fr. Rony Varghese and Fr. Varghese M Varghese of Kottayam diocese were suspended. In addition to this, no liturgical services would be conducted by them. As per the diocesan council, the order would be discussed soon after the final decision from the diocese in Kottayam.
One of the priests has already been facing a probe as a woman had committed suicide in Kuzhimattom, near Kottayam. The church took notice of the same after her husband filed a complaint. Fr. Rony Varghese was also facing legal action earlier on the grounds of harassment and misconduct, following several complaints.
