Notice issued to modify order extending interim bail till October 31st


Application seeking modification of its earlier order extending interim bail orders till October 31, 2020 in view of COVID-19 issued a notice by Delhi High Court.
State is directed by the three court Judge Bench to submit the data on the number of COVID positive inmates in jails and the number of persons out on interim bail.
Delhi High Court said.
SPP Prasad added that now the jails were equipped with isolation wards and a person was transferred to regular jail only after 14 days of his arrest.
On being asked, Senior Standing Counsel (Criminal) Rahul Mehra sought time to get the updated figures on the status of COVID-19 patients in jails.
The Court thus granted time to State to submit the latest data on the number of COVID positive inmates in jails and the number of persons out of interim bail who have to surrender.
The matter would be held on 16th October
