
Muzaffarpur shelter home case convict Brijesh Thakur’s counsel has submitted before the Delhi high court that the court had profaned the right to a free trial as provided beneath the constitution of India by conducting the hearing within the matter in a very overhasty manner.
A divisional bench of Justices V. Sanghi and Rajnish Bhatnagar adjourned the matter till October 1.
The petition filed by Brijesh Thakur, a life convict within the Muzaffarpur shelter home case, has wanted quashing of the court order. The order had convicted him and eighteen others in this matter.
The matter pertains to Sewa Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti, an NGO managed by Brijesh, within which over forty women were abused sexually and physically.
The CBI has opposed the plea filed by Brijesh, stating that he has been guilty on the commission of grievous crimes together with abusing minor girls sexually, physically, socially, and mentally.
