
On the third day of a five-day hearing, contentions related to the mental health and the condition of India’s Jail were in focus.
The hearings, at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court, are being presided over by Justice Samuel Goozee and the proceedings are being conducted through video conferencing.
Nirav Modi’s barrister, Ms.Clare Montgomery raised issues related to the condition of Barrack Jail, Mumbai. She stated that the jail is covered with blue metal which is likely to make the jail “incredibly hot”. She also raised problems related to the hygiene and the rodents.
References were also made to a report submitted by the medical experts which rose concerns upon the mental state of Nirav Modi.
