Justice Shailendra Shukla of the Indore Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court directed the State Government not to take any sought of Coercive action against Television producer Ekta Kapoor till the next hearing. The Court also directed respondents to produce CD (Compact Disk) containing objectionable content before the Court within 2 days.
A PIL has been filed before the Indore Bench of MP High Court by Valmik Sakaragaye contending that web series produced by Ekta Kapoor depicted the wife of an Army officer as an adulterous woman in the web series to which he further stated that it is shameless, derogatory and disrespecting the Army and its uniform and there should be a complete ban on such content. He also stated that such things causes ‘irreparable damage’ the mental peach and physical well being of the soldiers and it could create an impact on their services. Another PIL of similar nature was also filed before Allahabad High Court by a family member of Indian Soldier.
Ekta Kapoor in this regard said that specific scenes containing such allegedly objectionable content will be deleted from the series. She further stated that “As an individual and as an organization, we are deeply respectful towards the Indian Army. Their contribution to our well-being and security is immense. We have already deleted the scene that is being spoken about, so the action has been taken from our side. We fully apologize for any sentiment that is hurt unintentionally.”
