Body of a woman doctor from Agra was found in an empty plot in Bamrauli Katara locality of the city, hours after she went missing. She was killed by a medical officer of Orai Jalaun Medical College due to their failed love affair.
The deceased’s family alleged that she had been kidnapped and murdered by a man who was harassing her.
According to police, the deceased was a doctor in the gynaecology department of SN Medical College and had completed her MBBS from a private college in Moradabad.
Her family members had filed a complaint of kidnapping and threat of murder at Agra’s MM Gate Police Station on Wednesday morning. Her father and brother alleged that a medical officer of the Orai Jalaun Medical College had been continuously harassing her of late and had even threatened to kill her.
Agra Police took the medical officer, Dr Vivek Tiwari, in custody, who later admitted of having committed the crime. Tiwari said he killed her because of their failed love affair. Tiwari revealed he first strangulated and then stabbed the victim in the car to make sure she had died.
SSP Agra Bablu Kumar said that there were injury marks on the body’s head and neck. The post-mortem report has also revealed that the woman struggled to save her life before dying.
