
Justice NV Ramana and committee of seven judge in the period of increasing case of COVID-19 has decided to continue keeping physical hearings in the Supreme Court.
Supreme Court Advocates on Record Association (SCAORA), Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Bar Council of India (BCI) meeting held with the committee yesterday.
Secretary-General and the Committee on the advice of medical experts decided to not resume physical hearings at the Supreme Court.
With the members of the bar and the Committee has also decided that a phased opening of the courts was informed.
The meeting was a crucial one given the rising instances of lawyers either taking to alternate career options, dying by suicide or moving away from the legal profession as their income from the legal profession dried up with the lull in court work amid the pandemic.
It is informed that the Committee will meet again after two weeks.
