
The High Court Legal Service Committee, has conducted its first virtual Lok Adalat in the period of COVID-19 with the help of video conferencing in Bengaluru. The Lok Adalat Bench comprised the Karnataka High Court’s Justice Alok Aradhe, who is also Chairman of the High Court Legal Services Committee, and Vijay Kumar Patil, Conciliator.
Total 31 cases are settled by the bench and awarded compensation of Rs. 62,95,000 to the victims of motor vehicle accidents. Under the guidance of Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka and Justice Aravind Kumar, the first Lok Adalat was conducted released in the press feed.
During the COVID-19 pandemic period virtual Lok Adalat facility used by the advocates and the litigant public to settle large number of cases.
