The admission criteria of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) have been waived off.
Union HRD Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal said that “Due to the partial cancellation of class XII exams by several Boards, Joint Admission Board (JAB) has decided to relax the eligibility criterion for JEE 2020 qualified candidates this time.”
As per the norm, IIT’s aspirants needed to secure at least 75% in the 12th Board examination for gerenal candidates and 65% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. But this year due to COVID-19 pandemic 12th Board examinations got affected.
This year, the JEE Main and Advance examination have been rescheduled to be held in September 2020. It postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
