THE FIR HAS BEEN REGISTERED AT RAMNAGAR POLICE STATION AGAINST SUPRIYA SHARMA, EXECUTIVE EDITOR, FOR HER ARTICLE

” In Varanasi village adopted by Prime Minister Modi, people went hungry during the lockdown.
For the alleged commission of offenses, she was held liable under Sec 269 and 501 of Indian Penal Code and Scheduled caste and Scheduled tribe( Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989
The claim was put on her that the public distribution system in Uttar Pradesh was “not visible on the ground”
Sharma interviewed several residents of the village one of them was Mala Devi.
Sharma stated that Mala Devi was out of a job due to lockdown and was denied ration by the distributor.
After 15 days of the publication of the article, mala went to the Police station and told them Sharma misquoted her on the article.
In relation with the article, Mala stated in the FIR that she was not deprived of anything and Sharma falsely wrote about her she ” having roti chai before sleeping”
The FIR was reported against journalism and journalist not to make any issues as everything is hard during this lockdown.
