HIGH COURT OF DELHI DIRECTS A CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE PPE KITS TO HOSPITALS AND CREMATORIES DEALING WITH COVID’19 AFFECTED PATIENTS.

In a plea against the seizure of an unauthorised construction by the Delhi Municipal Corporation, the Delhi High Court allowed the aforesaid construction company to carry out rectifications to be made according to the sanctioned plan. Moreover, in the light of the recent pandemic it also directed them to provide 250 PPE kits to the medical officers of the hospitals that treat patients affected with COVID ’19 and to the crematories performing last rites of the patient that succumbed to the aforementioned disease.
The Cour observed,
“In view of the global pandemic, resulting in the countrywide lockdown, there is constant apprehension of contracting the disease from anyone. It is the need of the hour that hose engaged in the frontlines of dealing with
the pandemic and the resultant casualties are provided protective gear.”
