Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edapadi K Palaniswami denied rumours of intensified lockdown and the government informed the HC about the same. “A message circulating on social media with my photo is a false one. Criminal action will be taken against people who circulate the false message,” the chief minister told reporters at Mettur in Salem district.
The government had earlier informed the HC that lockdown would be necessary to curb the increasing number of cases. The Additional Advocate General SR Rajagopal also said that measures are being undertaken to contain the spread of the virus.
The questions raised with respect to e-passes were also cleared. The CM requested parents to register complaints if the schools are collecting fees for the upcoming academic year.
